Sweet is the remembrance of the truthful one. The news of Baba Jacob Olatunji Arosanyin's death was a bitter pill for us to swallow at the Ilorin Branch of Nigerian Bar Association. We denounced the news of his death as a rumour. We labelled it a big lie of the year. We pretended not to have heard the unpalatable news. We wished it was just a nightmare that we never wanted to manifest. Oh!, the news was eventually true. Our Baba! How could death take you away from us at this time? How could death visited Arosanyin’s family, the Nigerian Bar Association, Ilorin branch and the entire Egbemokun Community? Death had options, it could have visited the sky, sea or even thick forest to find any mortal in the image of Satan or Pharaoh and touch him/her with its cold hand.

Our solace is that when death came visiting, he met you in peace and in high spirit. When death came visiting on the fateful night, he met you in the midst of family and loved ones. When the unwanted messenger arrived, he met you as a true son of God and one who believed in the teaching of the lord, Jesus Christ. Baba Olatunji Arosanyin, while his sojourn on this earth lasted, he was an icon, an advocate of justice and fairness, a legal titan, gentleman, community leader, peace maker, bridge builder, philanthropist, humanitarian, activist and he never abhorred bitterness against anyone. He was conferred with distinguished merit award in recognition of his contributions and excellence service to the legal profession by Nigerian Bar Association Ilorin Branch in 2009. It is our belief that he is currently sitting on the right hand side of the Saviour with other righteous.

Before today, we cried. Before this day, we have mourned your departure from us. However, the revelations and testimonies that trailed your death have wiped away our tears and we cry no more. Today, We celebrate your life, leadership, community service, philanthropism, activism and humanitarianism.

Baba lived a righteous life and affected many lives positively. The Bible says:

“Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.” – Psalm 112: 6-8.

Baba, keep on resting on the bosom of the Lord until we meet and part no more. Adieu !!!.
